Web Development

This hands-on course is designed to introduce participants to the concepts and techniques involved in manipulating digital images. The main tool used in this course will be Photoshop version CS4. Participants will learn the basics of the Photoshop interface, how to use the main tools, techniques for optimization of images for online presentation, tips and tricks for enhancing images and the basics of making selections and managing layers.

Objectives:

Given the tool Photoshop CS4, students will:

• Recognize and identify the major tools and their uses
• Recognize and identify the function of the main palettes
• Define image editing terminology such as resolution, color space and compression
• Demonstrate proper use of tools such as the Selection Tool, Magic Wand, Cropping tool and paintbrushes
• Demonstrate proper techniques for creating and managing layers
• Demonstrate proper techniques for image resizing and optimization for on screen presentation (web or Powerpoint)
• Identify resources for images such as Adobe Bridge and various web resources

Prerequisites

To ensure your success, you must have basic knowledge of the web, web concepts, web browsers and basic computer skills.
