A new disk quota system has been implemented in the kinetic service that will make it easier for subscribers to control their disk usage. Pricing for the kinetic e-mail and web hosting service is based on current disk usage, but there have been no mechanisms in place to directly limit usage. This system will allow an organization to better track how much disk space is being used and control costs from year to year.

Local administrators will have the ability to grant specific amounts of the disk space purchased to individual e-mail accounts and web space as needed, so long as the total disk usage remains under the purchased amount.

This two hour hands-on session will allow current kinetic local administrators to learn about the new disk quota system and practice using its features. This course is recommended only for current kinetic administrators. If you are totally new to kinetic administration, please register for the all day kinetic class.

Objectives

Given instructions, resources, access to the kinetic Manager and account information, participants will demonstrate their ability to administer the disk quota functions of the e-mail and web services by error-free performance of the following tasks during their sessions:

• Manage e-mail disk quota by group
• Manage e-mail disk quota by account
• Set web site disk quota
• View quota usage values for an account
• Run the disk quota report
