Internet Information Services 6.0 (IIS), Introduction to  

  • Duration: 1 day
  • Session times: 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. (deliverable hours = 7.0)

Instructional Goal

Each participant will be made familiar with the increased Reliability, Performance and Security features of Microsoft? Internet Information Services 6.0 (IIS), including Socket Pooling, Multi-site Hosting, Clustering, Replication, Throttling, Authentication, Certificates, Encryption and Auditing, by successfully completing the classroom exercises for each of the instructional objectives.

Objectives

Given a stand-alone server loaded with Windows 2003 Server operating system, IIS 6.0, hands-on exercises and classroom handouts, the participant will be able to:

  • Install and configure IIS
  • Create and configure website virtual servers and virtual directories
  • Configure website authentication
  • Configure and maintain FTP virtual servers
  • Update and maintain security for an IIS server
  • Create and modify Web folders
  • Install and access the Remote Administration (HTML) tools
  • Troubleshoot web client browser connectivity
