Overview

This course is designed for those interested in the Remote Vulnerability Assessment Service offered by MOREnet Security. It is designed to give users the skills necessary to implement any network security changes recommended by MOREnet Security following the initial scans of your network. This class includes lecture and hands-on exercises.

Objectives

Given the presentation and hands-on exercises, each participant will be able to perform tasks necessary to implement network configuration changes recommended by MOREnet Security. Following a Remote Vulnerability Assessment, each participant will be able to

• Locate Machines by IP address
• Define Ports and common network protocols
• Patch and Upgrade their software
• Configure Group Policy and Local Security Settings
• Export and change Registry keys
• Understand the special concerns associated with the Gates Foundation systems
