Microsoft Internet Information Services 6.0, Introduction  

  • Duration: 1 day
  • Session times: 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. (deliverable hours = 7.0)

Instructional Goal

Each participant will demonstrate the ability to recall and perform the basic functions necessary for successfully Installing, Configuring, and Managing a Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS) Server, including use of IIS Manager, Active Directory Users and Computers and Microsoft Management Console by completing the classroom exercises for each of the instructional objectives.

Objectives

Given a stand-alone server, Windows 2000 Advanced Server operating system, hands-on exercises and classroom handouts, the participant will be able to:

  • Install and configure Internet Information Services (IIS)
  • Create and configure website virtual servers and virtual directories
  • Configure website authentication
  • Configure and maintain FTP virtual servers
  • Update and maintain security for an IIS server
  • Create and modify web folders
  • Install and use the Remote Administration (HTML) tools
  • Troubleshoot client-browser connectivity
