Course Description

Classes are completed in one day unless a different duration is specified.

General

• Duration: 1 day
• Session times: 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. (deliverable hours = 7.0)

This one-day course is for all MOREnet contacts regardless of their technical expertise. The intention of the class is to inform and train contacts with the most up to date information as well as introduce them to MOREnet staff, resources, discussion lists, project guidelines and necessary configurations for e-mail and connections. MOREnet encourages all contacts to attend this class to better support their organization.

Objective

Given information regarding MOREnet, staff and departments, website demonstrations, and hands-on exercises, by the conclusion of the class participants should be able to: 

• Meet MOREnet staff representatives from each department
• Identify services included with MOREnet membership and additional services available for fee
• Identify sections of the MOREnet webpage pertinent to contacts
• Contact MOREnet departments appropriately for their specific needs
• Use MOREnet contracted on-line resources
• Recognize MOREnet specific network connections
• Introduce the kinetic Manager tool
• Recognize security issues
